Fine Dining

For many of us, good food is one of the greatest enjoyments in life. At Haling Park Care Home residents will find a tantalising and diverse menu on offer every day. With a dedicated on-site chef, we proudly present residents with tempting culinary choices for breakfast, lunch and tea. Our wonderful kitchen team takes into account food preferences, dietary and cultural requirements.

We understand the importance a nutritious meal has on the overall impact on our health and well-being. We vary our menus on a daily basis while retaining familiar favourites. We have hot and cold selections, including soft, easy to eat options; residents will find an enticing and varied menu on offer each day.

Fine Dining Every Day

We believe food should be both a pleasure and a choice. Our chefs create seasonal summer and winter menus, offering comforting classics like fish and chips every Friday and a traditional roast each Sunday. Residents are actively involved in shaping our menus through quarterly meetings and one-to-one feedback, and we always welcome bespoke meal requests. Whether it’s their favourite dish or a cuisine from around the world, our team works hard to deliver meals that feel personal.

Baking plays a big part in daily life here. Residents can join our regular morning baking club and enjoy homemade sausage rolls, bread pudding or chocolate doughnuts. Every day at 3pm, freshly baked cakes are served with a cup of tea, either in communal areas or in the comfort of residents’ rooms. Our themed dining events and seasonal celebrations bring extra cheer to mealtimes, from Valentine’s Day to BBQs in our garden during the summer.

Dietary & Cultural Considerations

We take great care to ensure every resident’s dietary needs, allergies and cultural preferences are catered for. From vegetarian and pescatarian options to fortified meals and specialist textures, everything is prepared fresh and with care. For residents who need additional support, we provide piped meals and adapted crockery including plate guards and specialist cutlery, helping everyone enjoy their meals in comfort and dignity. Our chefs also meet individually with residents and their families to get to know their food preferences, helping us provide a truly tailored dining experience.

We celebrate food as a source of joy and wellbeing, not just nutrition. Our team work closely with residents to create meaningful experiences around food – whether that’s cooking their favourite recipe, enjoying cultural dishes, or baking together and sharing treats with others.

Calm, Comfortable Dining for All

We understand that for many residents, particularly those living with dementia, the environment matters just as much as the meal. That’s why we’ve created a dining setting that feels calm, unhurried and welcoming. Residents can choose to dine wherever suits them best – in their bedroom, one of our homely dining rooms, outside in the garden or at our bar and kitchenette spaces.

Hydration is carefully managed through a colour-coded system of water jugs, with red for residents needing full assistance, yellow for prompting, and green for those who are mostly independent. Water, juices and light snacks are also available throughout the day from each unit’s kitchenette.

We aim to make every mealtime enjoyable, whether it’s a hearty cooked breakfast with eggs done just the way they like, or a slice of homemade cake in the afternoon. At Haling Park, food brings people together, creates comfort and joy, and helps residents live every day their way.
