Private Gardens

At Haling Park Care Home, we are fortunate to house beautiful landscaped gardens, offering residents the ideal, safe space to stretch their legs, enjoy fresh air and take in the natural beauty our gardens have to offer.

When residents wish to enjoy some time to themselves, or they want to invite their loved ones for an alfresco meal, our gardens are the perfect spot to sit back and relax in.

Outdoor Activities

When the weather permits, our Activity Coordinator arranges for as many activities to be set-up in the garden as possible. Enjoying the garden allows residents to enjoy a change of scenery and make the most of the various wildlife that visits us. With activities such as planting flowers and vegetables, watering the plants and maintaining bird feeds there is always something to do in our private garden. We actively encourage our residents to participate in gardening activities and reap great health and social benefits.

Sensory Garden

Our sensory garden consists of four themed corners: The Beach, an area where residents can reminisce about past holidays, a Herb Garden filled with stimulating and therapeutic scents, Bug Corner full of bright exciting colours and textures and a Royal Garden which includes our very own Royal Corgi. The sensory garden was created in order to stimulate our residents’ senses in many ways, by providing a plethora of smells, lots of colourful flowers and different textures.

Private Gardens FAQs

We understand the importance of gathering information and gaining insight into life at a care home when making the decision to move. Here listed are our top three most frequently asked questions regarding our private gardens. If you have further questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch with our friendly team.

Providing our residents with the opportunity to get outdoors regularly enables them to get fresh air, engage in outdoor activities, and enjoy the natural world. It has many mental and physical benefits including reducing stress and anxiety, and improving overall mood, cognitive function, cardiovascular health, balance and muscle strength.

Just a few of the outdoor activities that residents can partake in include walking, gardening, exercise sessions, and picking herbs, and when the weather permits, residents can dine with loved ones, participate in outdoor arts & crafts and enjoy live entertainment.

Our garden has wheelchair-accessible paths and seated furniture for those with mobility issues. Our private garden is secure with proper fencing and gates, to prevent residents from wandering off or getting lost. We have well-maintained paths, lighting, and other safety features to prevent falls or other accidents.

First-Class Facilities

Here at Haling Park Care Home, we encourage all of our residents to do what makes them happy and take part in as many hobbies and activities as possible. Whether residents wish to be stimulated and motivated by an activity they have always enjoyed, or are looking to discover something new, we thrive in seeing residents enjoy engaging and exciting activities. There are several spacious lounges and dining rooms available around the home offering opportunities to socialise with the other residents and a range of activities to ensure that each day holds something new and interesting. With a varied activities and entertainment programme, in addition to regular outings and events, residents are able to enjoy first-class facilities and live a rich life every day.

Putting Residents First

Haling Park is built on the ethos that each individual should be given every opportunity to live an enriched and independent life in a supportive, caring environment. Our residential and nursing support team are here to help residents live an independent life with as much or as little support as they wish. For our residents who live with age-related physical, mental and emotional difficulties, our care services and professional teams have been put together to alleviate any and all stress that everyday routines can potentially cause; removing these day-to-day challenges allows residents to thrive throughout their stay with us. Our approach is more than meeting care needs, it’s about putting residents first and caring for the individual as a whole, allowing them to live the enriched and varied life they deserve.
