A collage of photos of our residents celebrating Derby Day at Haling Park Care Home

Derby Day

We had a fantastic event at a Haling Park care home on Friday, where we hosted our very own Derby Day. Our residents had lots of fun choosing their horses as they placed their bets. This activity took many of our residents back in time to when they attended horse racing events in their younger days.

They watched the winners come in on the TV Cheering on the horses they had chosen. To kickstart the races our chef served some tasty appetizers for the residents to enjoy before the races began. Staff had themed props ready to be used for some fun photo opportunities.

The afternoon ended with our wonderful 1940s singer Anna McDonald who is one of our regular entertainers who performs songs from the 1940s. Our residents thoroughly enjoy listening to Anna and some even had a boogie. The residents and staff had so much fun this day and we hope to do something similar in the near future.
