Residents & Staff Members Walk to Support Make-A-Wish Foundation
Residents and staff of Haling Park Care Home recently came together for a noble cause, embarking on a 6km fundraising walk at Kenley Aerodrome to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This event, held under the banner 'Your Small Contribution, is Someone’s Big Miracle,' underscored the community’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children with critical illnesses.
The walk was more than just a physical challenge; it was a heartfelt effort to raise funds and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organisation dedicated to granting life-changing wishes to children facing serious health conditions. Participants from Haling Park Care Home included a spirited mix of residents, staff, family members and volunteers, all united by their desire to contribute to this worthy cause.
The scenic route around Kenley Aerodrome provided a perfect backdrop for the event. Participants enjoyed the fresh air and camaraderie as they walked together, sharing stories and encouraging one another. The sense of community was palpable, with everyone motivated by the knowledge that their efforts would help bring joy and hope to children in need.
The event was a resounding success, not only in terms of the funds raised but also in the way it brought the Haling Park community closer together. The funds collected from this walk will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping to grant wishes that can provide moments of happiness and relief to children and their families during challenging times.
Participants and supporters wore t-shirts emblazoned with the slogan 'Your Small Contribution, is Someone’s Big Miracle!' - this message resonated deeply with everyone involved, reinforcing the idea that even small acts of kindness can lead to significant and positive changes in the lives of others.
The Haling Park Care Home community is already looking forward to future fundraising events and continuing their support for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This walk has not only contributed to a meaningful cause but has also strengthened the bonds within the care home, fostering a sense of purpose and unity among residents and staff alike.
